Mexican Codex

Description

A codex photographed in the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico. "This codex, copied in the years 1539-1540, contains the narration of a Franciscan monk identified as Fray Gerónimo de Alcalá. The period covered by his relation goes from the beginning of the XIII century to the XVI century."
Codexes are a marvellous testimony of the traditions, way of living and history of the natives. The illustrations and detailed descriptions are invaluable and rare treasures, which survived through stories full of twists and turns, as the Spanish did not hesitate to burn them.
